What is the attire?
Cocktail and Cowboy Boots!
We love to see you dressed up and glamorous! Sticking to the rich history of the Alamo, and Texas, guests are encouraged to wear their boots!
Whether you are in cute cocktail, formal long, Texas Tuxedo, or full suit, boots go with it all!
Are we in the sanctuary of the Alamo?
Unfortunately, weddings are not permitted in the sanctuary of the Alamo. However, the sanctuary is open to the public for tours, everyday until 5pm! Definitely worth exploring on Saturday, before the ceremony!
Are children welcome at the wedding?
We absolutely love all of your kiddos!
However, the Emily Morgan can only accommodate small intimate weddings. Other than our own kiddos, who are an important part of this union, we are asking that this is an adult only event! Thank you for your understanding.
Are pets allowed?
The Emily Morgan is a pet-friendly establishment, as long as you call and speak with front desk first and book the extra fees.
At this time, The Alamo forbids pets on the premises.

What part of the Alamo is the ceremony being held in?
The ceremony will take place Calvary Courtyard, which is accessible on the left side of the Sanctuary. Follow the grand old oak tree and its twinkling lights to the open courtyard 20ft away from the entrance of the Emily Morgan.
Is there transportation to the ceremony from the Emily Morgan?
The great thing about staying at "The Official Hotel of the Alamo", is that the entrance to the Emily Morgan is mere feet away from the entrance to the Calvary Courtyard in the Alamo. No transportation will be needed for such a small distance.
What can we expect at the reception?
The reception kicks off shortly after the Alamo ceremony in the lower level of the Emily Morgan hotel. Each room will host a different part of the reception. The main room will host a grazing table, and meals for guests. Secondary room will host the DJ, with dance floor, and most of the announcements and speeches. The 3rd room will be set up for photos, drinks, and extra fun for our guests! All rooms will have plentiful seating!
What activities can we expect during the wedding weekend?
We have a weekend of fun planned for all of our guests coming into San Antonio. Friday will be dedicated to our family and rehearsal. After rehearsal, we would love for everyone to join us in the Market Square - Location TBD.
Saturday we will send an itinerary with some of Josh and Jess's favorite places to go in San Antonio. We encourage you to soak up some culture before celebrating with us that evening. This city is magical!
Sunday - Everyone is encouraged to join us for brunch, and then accompany us on a chartered Riverboat tour on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The tour takes roughly 35 minutes, and would be a great ending to an amazing weekend!
Will there be alcohol at the reception?
Well of course! Our reception will kick off with a short cocktail hour, and Josh and Jess have included an open bar with a cap. Once the cap is met, the bar turns into a cash bar for the guests! Enjoy yourselves!
What if I have a food allergy?
No problem! Please let us know ahead of time if you have a food allergy, and we can alert the hotel and chefs!
How long is the discount for the Hotel Block good for?
The block for the hotel room, and it's discounted price, is good until August 2024. Please be sure to book in time to receive our special rate!
Do we have to stay at the Emily Morgan?
In a nutshell, no. You are not required to stay at the Emily Morgan. There are many amazing hotels to stay at in San Antonio. The Emily Morgan was picked due to it's walkability from the Alamo, it's beautifully preserved historic feel and look, the great rate we are able to provide our guests with, and its accessibility to all historic landmarks, shopping, Riverwalk, and Market Square.
What will the weather be like in September 2024 - San Antonio
As all of us know (here in Texas) if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
While we would love to say that it will be a perfect day, sunny and 75, we can probably count more on 90+ degrees. The ceremony is during golden hour, and it is outside, so we will keep the ceremony short, so that we can get back to the air conditioning of the Emily Morgan! Historically, it will be warm, but just for a moment!
Does the Emily Morgan have Valet?
Yes they do! Pull up and let the valet take care of your vehicle for you!
Valet is $50 a night. HOWEVER, there are so many public parking options downtown. Public parking immediately behind the Alamo will run $15-24 a night. $10 parking is an 8 minute walk away, as well!
Is there a gift registry?
Yes! You can find our registries here on The Knot, and at Dillards. Please check our website for the links!
